Catch Up

Hello Project Metro, I’m going to catch you guys up on whats been going on in my life Windows Phone wise, otherwise there would be paragraphs and paragraphs on my personal life about homeless drunk men sleeping on my couch, a very rotten little brother, and don’t even get me started on the stress of school.  However your not here to listen about that crap so lets get down to the WinPhan business.

Game wise, my last two weeks have been filled with nothing but Final Fantasy and Chicken’s Can’t Fly.

Final Fantasy is everything you would expect out of the timeless classic and more. With this Windows Phone version you get the extra dungeons that come with the other later releases of the game.  These add hours and hours of value and quiet a few challenges as well. One of the best things about all WP games are the achievements, however this game takes them to a new extreme for WP. First of all, all of them are secret, but if you’re an achievement hunter like myself then you will most likely go online and check them out.  You’ll discover that this game has about four pretty challenging ones that will require a lot of time in the game. For example I’m getting close to 40 hours of playtime and only have 100 GS from the game.  The only complaints I have about this game are that I didn’t get a bestiary or new game+ after I finished the main story, otherwise its a great RPG to pick up for WP.

I may have gone a little overboard on Final Fantasy so I’ll keep Chicken’s Can’t Fly pretty short.

This is a very fun physics game where you control your chicken through various obstacles and collect power-ups and corn as you free fall through the level.  This game was recently updated which added a ton a new fun and value to the game.  Two new sections were released, an aquarium level and a Dojo level, so you can unleash your inner ninja chicken. They also added skins for your chicken and a few new downloadable ringtones, but the best new feature to me is the multi-player. It works by completing a challenge with your chicken and sending it to a friend. Then your friend can play the same challenge but with a shadow image of your chicken competing against him. This is a must have game, especially since the price just dropped to 99 cents.

As for Windows Phone news, I’m defiantly excited for WP 7.8 and 8.  I’m planning on sticking with 7.8 until I  can move up, but it will be a tough decision on whether or not I should save up for Surface first or get a WP 8. What do you guys think I should go for?

Yesterday was full of excitement. My Samsung Focus S got fully upgraded.  I’m already using the new features like attaching multiple pictures in a SMS and even had a bunch of fun with the audio message/picture combinations.  I also like that they added SIM card applications that should make a transition to WP 8 even easier.  Oh and my keyboard will never disappear again! Which makes me very happy. I also got a mysterious Samsung update. I tried to find info on it online but my search came up empty, so if anyone knows what it might of done just shoot me a comment below. Thanks for reading guys, I’m off to listen to the third PM podcast.  See you next week unless you come visit me on the MetroPolitan.
